5 “Not Very Serious” Tips to Get Backlinks
Posted by Mike | Filed under Link BuildingGuess what? It’s time for a short break from very serious link building. You guys mustn’t be very concentrated on getting backlinks, you should take a rest every now and then… let’s have some fun for a while, okay? In this post, there will be some weird and hilarious tips to get some backlinks. There will also be tips that will really work (they’re not just for fun). Enjoy!
Note: Some of the tips might not be funny for you, but they might make others laugh… so please be considerate.
Make an e-book… and MAKE SURE that the people who will read it WILL link to you. How? It’s simple! Just put the following statement somewhere in your e-book: “You may not use the knowledge that you will gain/gained from this e-book if you will not give a backlink to the author.” It sounds pretty easy, right?
Use your URL as your username. By doing this, everyone who will mention your username will give you a free backlink! This works best if you use this technique in very active forums.
Place a banner in front of your house. This is a very good “linkbait”. Just make a good-looking banner and display it in front of your house. Make sure that the banner looks very nice for this technique to work! After designing the banner, write something on it… something like “If you liked this banner, support us by putting a link to www.yoururl.tld on your website!” will do it.
Threaten. This may not be the best idea, but it might work in some cases… “Gimme backlinks or I’ll destroy your [insert very precious item here]!” I know it sounds violent, but it might just work!
Use holidays to your advantage! During a Christmas or any other holiday, put a notice on your site saying that “Hey people, let me just remind you that it’s [insert holiday here]! Share your blessings by giving this site a link! Thank you so much and God bless.” Something similar should work, too.

I like the tip “put your website on paper in a glass bottle and drift it out to sea” I never thought of that! lol
