5 Things to Do With $500

500 dollars

Got 500 bucks? Why not use it for your website? I have listed 5 things to do if you have $500 in your pocket. You will encounter the words “price” and “total” after every thing to do. “Price” is the cost of one item and “total” is the sum of all the discussed items’ prices.

It will always be assumed that you will buy the most expensive package to be certain that $500 is enough.

Buy quality backlinks. Get some listings from the strongest directories like Alive Directory and Aviva Directory. Regular listings cost about $50 and featured listings cost about $75/year. You could also buy permanent links on related websites. The price will depend on the site’s PR and traffic.

Price: $250
Total: $250
(Assuming that you will buy 2 featured listings from strong directories and 10 permanent links for $10 each)

Hire someone to do some work for you. Visit some webmaster forums and see if someone is doing manual directory submissions. Some people will submit to 500+ web directories for $10 or below, just choose the best deal.

Price: $10
Total: $260

Get your site reviewed. Most blogs are willing to review your site if it’s related to their topic. People with high-traffic, good content and frequently updated blogs often charge $50-$80 for a review, and that review will also have a link to your site. Your site will be exposed and get one quality backlink too.

Price: $80
Total: $340

Buy a high-quality web template. This is optional, but let’s just say that you are not that good with graphics and you need your site to look professional. Buy a premium web template — the good ones usually range from $50 - $100. If a template goes for more than $100, don’t buy it. It’s just too expensive, unless you’re really desperate.

Price: $100
Total: $440

Advertise your site. Spend $60 to advertise your site through Google Adwords or some other advertising program. Some good sites sell ad spaces for low prices ($20-$50/month), try searching for these sites on AdEngage and AdBrite.

Price: $60
Total: $500

That’s all folks, I assure you that you won’t regret getting all of the listed things for $500.

P.S. The WWW Observer sells ad spaces for $3.99/month. ;)
