5 Tips to Make Your Blog SEO-Friendly

Use 301 redirect. www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com are treated as different pages by search engines, thus they will have different rankings. If you want to have only one ranking, you must redirect one URL to another. To do this, see this post.
Choose an appropriate title. Your website’s title play an important role in SEO. It can boost your ranking, but it can also pull it down. Put some relevant keywords in your title, but do not stuff keywords in the <TITLE> tag. Just the name of your site and maybe 2-3 keywords.
Get the necessary plug-ins. If you’re using WordPress or any other blog software that supports plug-ins, install the ones that are needed for SEO purposes. Meta tag generators are just one of the essential plug-ins for an SEO-friendly blog.
Use text links instead of image links. Search engines can read the content of texts, but not what’s depicted in an image. It is recommended that you use text links so that search engines can determine the anchor of the link.
Use an SEO-friendly URL structure. Your URL’s structure has a significant part in SEO because search engines do not only look at your pages’ content; they also look at the URL. A page with a URL which has relevant keywords will definitely rank higher than a page with a weird URL structure.
Example:
http://www.tw3o.com/technology-stuff.html will rank higher for the keyword “technology” than http://www.tw3o.com/ts.html

1. Log-in to WordPress.
2. Go to Options.
3. Go to Permalinks.
4. Customize your Permalink Structure.
