Affiliate IncomeAre you a member of an affiliate program and do you want to get a lot of sales/sign-ups right away? To do so, you have to aggressively promote your affiliate link and/or product. In this post, I will discuss five (5) ways to promote the product that you’re trying to sell. Some of the ways are very basic and some are uncommon.

Use your website… WISELY. I highly doubt that someone is unaware of this, but I’m including this so that you won’t miss out on anything. If you have a website, it’s one of the best places to put your affiliate link. It will be exposed to your visitors and there are more chances that you’ll get a sale.

Make sure that your readers/visitors will be interested in the product that you’re promoting, or else you will just be wasting space on your site. If your site is about soccer, try to promote what soccer fans like (limited edition soccer items, for example).

Also be sure that you present it in such a manner that it is visible and it can be noticed by people, otherwise it will just be a useless piece of crap. ALWAYS place the affiliate link/banner on a prominent place!

For bloggers: if possible, put it on top of every post.

Put up an ad campaign. This method will cost you money, but it’s worth it if your affiliate program allows it. You may use PPC (pay-per-click) networks such as Google AdWords to expose and promote the affiliate product that you want to sell. If you don’t want to do this, then fine, but this will really earn you a decent profit since you will only pay less than a dollar (oftentimes) for every click and you can get more than $10 (usually) for each sale. Imagine how much you’ll earn if every person who clicks will buy the affiliate product!

Use free classified ad services. There are a couple of sites out there which offer free classified ads for you to use. Put a listing for your affiliate product there and your income will be boosted especially if a lot of people visit the site to look at the classifieds. Craigslist is a very good classifieds site.

Write free e-books and include your affiliate products. When you write and distribute free e-books, people usually check the sites/products that you recommend especially if they’re avid readers of your blog/site.

Create original e-books and present unique ideas there and include the product that you market as one of your recommended ones. After finishing the e-books, give them out for free. Again, only put affiliate links that you think will interest the readers. After distributing the e-books, expect your affiliate income to go up (assuming that the e-books reached a lot of people).

Always include the affiliate links in newsletters. If your site sends out newsletters to subscribers, this may be helpful to you. For every newsletter, put your affiliate link on top of the article. Make it small but noticeable, and be sure that the anchor text (if it can be modified) is catchy! This might make your subscribers purchase the product you want to sell. If you have no idea what to use as the anchor text for your affiliate links, something like “Hot Offer! Get a copy of ‘Internet Home Business for Newbies’ for only $10″ for a newsletter entitled “Tips to have a Successful Online Biz” will definitely get some sales or sign-ups.

Done! Hopefully you have learned something from this post. Always remember that you won’t get sales or sign-ups if you don’t expose/promote your affiliate links, so don’t be shy when you’re promoting those products. Be aggressive, but don’t break rules. You know what I mean… (like posting affiliate links in forums even if it’s not allowed) Stay tuned for more SEO-related stuff and tips to make money online.

Adwords is not for beginners nor is email marketing.

A well designed site will work if it’s promoted correctly. As far as I’ve tested along the years the search engine traffic is what coverts best.

Actually 2 classified ads directories that I am aware of that are not as restrictive about affiliate links (unlike craigslist) are 1) usfreeads and 2) adlandpro. Thought that I would share those with you.
