AdToll - Your Tollgate to Web Traffic
Posted by Mike | Filed under AdToll, CPC, Make Money OnlineAdToll, an ad network which was launched on June 18, 2007, is somewhat a new player in the industry. Although it’s not even a half year old, it has a great potential of becoming one of the largest ad networks on the net. It allows publishers to make money by selling ad spaces and at the same time, lets advertisers pick publishers’ sites where they can promote their products.
Great Features and All That…
AdToll is not a contextual ad network, so you can use it alongside AdSense. It is similar to AdBrite; publishers have total control over their ad units. They can choose what rating (Safe, Safe/Teen and Adult) the ads must be. Through this, the publishers can choose what type of ad materials will appear on their sites. There are also categories which they can choose from. If the customer ads aren’t suitable for their site, then they can reject it. If they feel like their visitors will be interested in the ad, then they can approve it.
Publishers have control over the prices. If you want your ad space to cost $25 per week, then so be it! You can set the weekly price for your site’s ad spots. You may also give discounts, if you feel generous. In the event that no customer ad is available, a set of run-of-network (RON) ads will be served and you will earn on a cost-per-click (CPC) basis.

AdToll offers various ad types and sizes, therefore a publisher can freely choose an ad unit which suits his site’s layout. There are text ads, banner ads and video ads. You can choose from these ad formats:
Source: AdToll Publishers FAQ
• Text Ad
• Full banner - 468×60
• Skyscraper - 120×600
• Button - 120×90
• Button - 120×60
• Micro Button - 88×31
• Leaderboard - 728×90
• Square Button - 125×125
• Square Button - 100×100
• Wide Skyscraper - 160×600
• Vertical banner - 120×240
• Video Ad - 300×250
Select the one that you think will fit your site the most.
AdToll has a rate cardlet for every publisher site. This is something that other ad networks don’t have. A rate cardlet has the information that the advertisers need like the Alexa Rank, number of clicks per week and the average CPC. You can display your rate cardlet on your site for the whole universe advertisers to see.
AdToll offers a VERY clean dashboard for its members. Sometimes, we stop using online services because of the topsy-turvy layouts (in short, lack of professionalism). Fortunately, the designer of AdToll’s site had psychic powers when he had to design AdToll, thus he knew what everyone wanted — a tidy and professional dashboard! I told you it is super tidy!
The people at AdToll care about their members. They assign a personal account manager to each account. Every time that a publisher/advertiser encounters a problem (which is not so often), the account manager is always there to help you. Just click the contact button and your queries will be answered in no time.
Affiliate Program
Yay, there’s an affiliate program! From AdToll’s site:
“The affiliate program allows you to make money by referring on customers to AdToll. You earn 5% commission on all sales made by a referred customer within the first 30 days of their membership.”
It’s not that great, but at least there’s an affiliate program.
Payment
Everyone just loves to read this part. Alright, we’re here. P-A-Y-M-E-N-T. It seems that everyone’s so excited to get paid! Well, AdToll gives the publishers 75% of the total earnings. This means that if you made $150, you will get $112.50.
AdToll issues payments every 15th of the month. You can opt to receive your payments via PayPal (minimum $20), wire transfer (minimum $1,000), or check (minimum $20, but there’s a $20 fee if you choose to receive checks
). If you’re a publisher and an advertiser at the same time, you can also let the money stay on your account so that you can pay for your advertising fees.
The Good and The Bad
The Good
• There are tons of great features. Very unique, I must say!
• The site is very neat.
• AdToll has an awesome customer support!
• The minimum payout is okay.
The Bad
• There’s a $20 fee if you opt to receive checks.
• The affiliate program isn’t that attractive.
Conclusion
AdToll is a great program for everyone. Be sure to try it, the owners are very honest and open. They always ask for feedback from their customers, and that’s a great thing!

Ive been using adtoll for a while now and am very pleased with the servic
1) my account manager Dan is quick to reply - i am never dealing with automated messages or sent to the FAQ (a hate of mine)
2) the layout is neat, clean and tidy - i am sick of the hundreds of websites out there, with stuff everyhere
3) quality and trust are important to me. adtoll is clearly premium quality and reliable.
they are only new, but every day i see more customers come on board… maybe, ill make a video add tonight
a+
Great to know that you like AdToll, Marty! I wish you success.
Ok, I have to be honest here: I have been avoiding ad networks like the plague, but AdToll looks like something I might actually like. Of course, I have to wait for my blog to get a bit more popular before implementing ads - if ever.
Regardless, thanks for the headsup, I’ll definitely take a look.
I’m giving it a try, hoping for the best.
It’s somewhat challenging finding ad networks that accept fairly new blogs like mine. That’s why I initially liked Google, but I’m making pennies with them.
Nonetheless, thanks for the tip, I’ll give it a try!
It seems like a good option to look into. I’ve poked around a bit and I think I may be implementing it. I haven’t been all that keen on AdBrite and this looks like it may be the time of thing I’m looking for. I especially like the “bulk discount” feature.

There is a new Affiliate Program page, where there are stats on where your referrals have come from, charts etc.
Keep up to date on the blog.

I just started running AdToll on my blog, which is relatively new. I don’t really have enough traffic at this point to be making any money. I like the customer service though, so far.
I like your info in this post. I’m glad it’s not just copy and paste from the AdToll website. Thanks!
