BlogStruk Review
Posted by Mike | Filed under Other ReviewsAs I said in an earlier post, Chanya from BlogStruk will also get a review for placing second in the top commentator contest. Now people, do you regret not participating since you thought that not beating Tanner can’t get you any prize?
Before I start with the review, let’s talk about the 2nd placer first. Chanya’s comments were full of content. They were not like “Wow, *cough* great post! *cough* I agree…”. Since they expressed the opinions of Chanya, I decided to check her (Is it ‘her’? Sorry if I got it wrong, I’m just not sure.) blog out and read the posts.
I must say, the author’s writing style is great. The posts are really interesting and worth reading. Without further ado, here’s my review! (It seems that I’m getting better at rhyming…)
The Blog’s Look and Feel

I looked at the blog with all my scrutinizing gadgets and I came to a conclusion that the blog uses Verdana as its font the design is simple yet elegant. When I visited the blog, the first thing that I saw was the most recent blog post. BlogStruk gets a bonus point from me for not being like the others which greet you with loads of obtrusive ads.
The design is easy on the eyes, and I believe that this is a must for all blogs if you want your readers to stay. I also noticed that the theme has gradients on the sidebar and on the header… and I like gradients. So for that, BlogStruk gets another bonus point.
The Main Course: Blog’s Content
Posts
As I said earlier, Chanya’s writing style is superb. I personally like the way she writes, and each post is delivered with quality. The posts are all original and they express the author’s opinions — I never saw an all-out positive and biased review (I don’t think there’s a paid review on the blog.) nor a paid post which contains nothing but keywords.
Every post is properly organized and can be understood by the readers. The posts are informative; I’m sure all bloggers (and other people) will gain useful knowledge from this blog.
Other Stuff in the Blog
Do you guys know of blogs which sell paid links on their blogroll? I bet you know hundreds of those blogs, but BlogStruk is not one of them. This blog’s blogroll is full of useful links (*cough* The WWW Observer is one of them *cough*). I visited them and I was able to read enlightening posts.
Just Some Fun Facts
While I was browsing through the blog a while ago, I noticed some fun facts about BlogStruk. Wanna know what they are? Here ya go!

I think that’s it for the fun facts. So do you think that I’m the best observer ever? If not, then sorry to disappoint you. I tried my best to gather those information. Promise!
Conclusion
BlogStruk is a no nonsense blog. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for blogging tips and some enjoyment.

Wow, nice find! I sure need to improve my scrutinizing skillzz!
Oh, look… you’re the top commentator now! Well… congrats!
Wow, great review Juggler. I wouldn’t have really paid much attention to BlugStruk had it not been for this review, but after reading what you had to say… I think I’ll go subscribe to the feed.
JUGGLER:
Let me begin by thanking you for such a great review of my site. It’s my first one. As such, I’ve been on pins-and-needles since you announced you’d be reviewing my site as well as Tanner’s.
Here are a few more tidbits for you:
-Yes, I’m female.
-I’ve been meaning to fix that calendar icon (the one that says “Oct”) for some time but was reluctant to do so because of my previous experience with “fixing” things on my site. However your review gave me the courage I needed: the word “Oct” has been removed.
-My comment-to-post ratio would be a little higher except I mistakenly overwrote the files on my site a couple of weeks ago (see above) and wiped out 46 comments!
-The name blogstruk.com would have been blogstruck.com, but the owner wanted $6,800 for it, even though he’d not done anything with the site since purchasing the name.
Thanks again for the review!
Dropping the “c” from blogstruck is not too much of a problem. Afterall, didn’t Flickr proved that the “e” is too overrated?
Chanya: No problem…
Multippt: Yeah, it’s not that much of a problem. Flickr pwns, BTW. XD
