Clean Up and Think Better

A Cluttered Workspace Can Lead to a Cluttered Mind

dirty workspaceAdmit it… There was at least one day that your workspace was dirty and you were too lazy to clean up. Believe it or not, a cluttered workspace can lead to a cluttered mind. Having a cluttered mind can affect your marketing ideas, the quality of your blog posts, and a lot more things concerning your performance.

Organizing your workspace can tremendously improve your ideas and can save you lots of time. Instead of looking for that tiny piece of paper that got buried in a pile of other things, you can actually come up with a contest for your blog and be productive!

Still not convinced that a cleaner workspace can help you be more productive? Just think of it this way: You can’t make lots of money online if you keep on forgetting that idea because you just lost your $1,000 fountain pen.

Once you have agreed with me that an organized and a tidy workspace can indeed help you, read on for some tips.

Tips to Keep Your Workspace Tidy

After arriving from somewhere, don’t place all your things on your table. You might be in a hurry to check your AdSense earnings for the day, but that is NOT an excuse to place all unnecessary stuff on your table. Throw whatever needs to be thrown, place your coins in your piggy bank, and put your bills in your wallet.

Sausage McMuffinDon’t work and eat at the same time… no matter how tempting it is. There’s a reason for a dining room, guys. Don’t eat while you’re working on your next article. The tiny bits of food might go into the spaces in your keyboard and some unwanted creatures might “attack” you while you’re doing a very important task.

Keep everything in its place. Your CDs, books, television remote control, and Wii controller need not be on your desk! Place them where they’re supposed to be and your workspace will be neat.

Wipe the dust every once in a while. Dust can accumulate and I must say, I hate dust! They make your desk look horrible. Wipe the dust off at least thrice a week to keep your desk looking neat and “shiny”.

Organize your important belongings. If you have enough space in there, place all your flash drives in one place, your important documentations in another. Be sure to keep ONLY the things that you’ll be needing while working near you. What’s the point of having your Monopoly chance cards with you when you’re too busy optimizing your website?

Print a little “list” of where everything should be. When you’re thinking of a lot of things, you tend to forget which item goes where. Print a list of where your pen, your mobile phone, and other important stuff should be. This can help you organize your space better.

Always spend at least ten (10) minutes each day to maintain the neatness of your space. Your stuff can get disarranged once in a while, so to keep your workspace always neat, make sure that you spend at least 10 minutes each day to clean up. Make it part of your daily routine to put your things where they’re supposed to be.

I think that’s it for the tips, guys. Keep your workspace tidy and you’ll be worry-free! ;)

A simple advice that has been passed from the parents to the offspring is to keep your table clean while working when they were kids. How many of us do it sincerely even after growing up? Here are the perfect but simple rules one has to follow to keep your mind and body healthy during work.

“a cluttered workspace can lead to a cluttered mind”

for me, it’s the other way around, when ever i feel like lots of things sit on my mind, i neglect the order and tidiness and let the mess surround me, just like in my brain.

It is a pretty old saying, isn’t it ?

Advice that our mothers and grandmothers keep giving. Solid it definitely is, but you’d definitely find your neatness freak neighbour taking it too seriously.

When your room is cluttered, you kind of feel mad, and can’t concentrate properly.

2 computers? Isn’t that one more than you need? :p
Once in every while, my workplace gets a little spring cleaning, so… yes, it really helps to keep everything clean and tidy.

Hey, this is pretty good write up. It made me think over how I manage things, and I found some positive and negative areas where I would need to work on. Good that your article made me think about it at least.

I heard: You are like the people and things You associate with.
Therefore You should keep Your workplace at least clean in some way. You should also have friends who are productive and motivated.
I won’t let people who are negative and pessimist come near to me. It really improved my success.
