Annoyed

My Web Host is SO Below Par!

Admit it — you have encountered a web host which exasperated you. Well, just to let you know, lots of people have also encountered (and currently encountering) web hosts which are not worth the money. Sometimes, the host’s support team is just too illiterate and careless. There are also occasions when its servers are down for a whole month! When these things happen, wouldn’t you wish that you could do SOMETHING that will depict your anger?

Well, here’s something that you can do…

First, search for the annoying web host on Google. In the example below, I have entered the web host “Dot5″ because according to some sources like this one, it has a LOT of negative reviews from its customers.

Dot5

Now that the result page is showing, take a look at the sponsored result. That sponsored link is advertisement paid for by the web hosting company in order to increase their sales. For every click that it receives, the company pays a certain amount of money. But because the host made you VERY angry with the service that it gave you, I think you have to do SOMETHING mischievous!

Host Example

That’s right, go on, CLICK THAT SPONSORED LINK! It’s what the host deserves right? The company must pay for wasting your time and money (I’m assuming that the worst of the worst things happened to you, like servers were down for six months or something…)! Don’t go on a clicking frenzy though…

Things to Remember

First of all, you must understand that the web hosting company is paying for those sponsored ads. Don’t do this if you experienced a nice service. And you should DEFINITELY not do this just because the host is your competitor! That’s not a proper thing to do. Only do this if:

  • the support team did not treat you well/did not answer your queries
  • you were billed continuously even if you cancelled your order
  • your account was suspended for no apparent reason
  • things which you think are unethical were done by the company’s staff

I am having the same challenge with my web host right now but would have to look for a good one while I am still enjoying the free service from my host. I saw that you have a review on Host Monster and that would give me another choice to choose between Host Monster and Host Gator. You have a great and cool site and it is really easy to surf around.

I admit I am very happy with HostGator so far. I have their little ad on my blog too, but don’t think anybody is signing up yet.
