Get Paid to Blog Networks? Nah…
Posted by Mike | Filed under Blogging, Make Money OnlineI know that most of you have encountered get paid to blog networks like ReviewMe, Smorty, PayPerPost and many others. I’m a member of some of those sites, and I have already received a number of review offers. Now, I thought… Why would I accept these reviews and share 25% to 50% of the revenue with these networks? I can just keep everything to myself and make more money if I would directly accept review offers.
Sure, these networks may have a large pool of advertisers, but I can easily get clients by posting my review service on forums and even on my very own blog. I don’t have to give half of my earnings to these networks just because they have lots of advertisers waiting to spend their money on reviews! I’m not being greedy, I just don’t like to lose the opportunity to make more money.
Let me know what you think about this. Will you still use ReviewMe or whatever in order to receive paid review offers? Or will you find advertisers on your own and keep all your earnings to yourself?

Hmm, interesting opinion Juggler.
I’ve been thinking about writing paid reviews lately, but have been avoiding networks in order to maintain my pride. Writing reviews independently is a brilliant idea, and you don’t have to share any of the profits.
Great insight, a lot of network users should consider doing this.
I agree with your point here.
Besides, (of course, these are only speculations) bloggers participating in services you mentioned are also rumored to have lost their PR:
Hmmn, I’ve never done a paid review. I’m probably too new to blogging to do this, unless I charge about $10 bucks! However, cutting out the middle man is always a good idea!
I plan on staying away from Text Link Ads and Review Me and the like. Seeing the PR hit that came about not too long ago has made me think that it’s not worth it.
Dustin and SEO Smarty have a good point with the Google PageRank hit, but how serious was that hit really? Most - if not all - of those websites in the networks have regained their original PR.
They take too high of a percentage. Your right, why would you need to use them. Besides you need to maintain credibility on your blog. If you are using one of those services, many times they try control the review.
Yeah… 50% is just…
too much.
