How to Write a Good E-mail
Posted by Mike | Filed under Miscellaneous, Traffic-buildingThere are several factors that can make an e-mail good or bad. No, it’s not just the content, you also have to think about the other elements that make up a good e-mail. Read through this article and you will learn how to construct an acceptable e-mail.
Make your subject catchy. Before your visitors can see what you’re offering, they’ll have to look at the letter’s subject first. If they’re not interested, then you’re one of the unlucky solicitors out there. You must make your subject attractive, but don’t use a subject which is not related to your product. It’ll be most likely considered as spam. Something like these will do well:
• Holiday Offer from MyCompany - 50% Discount on DVDs
• Top Ten Tips for Making Good Web Designs
• Summer’s coming! Can you stand the heat?
• Best keywords which attract money like magnets
The introduction is your key to a good e-mail. When you begin your letter, be sure to start it in an interesting fashion. Don’t start with a sentence like “I’m selling video games so buy now.”! You’re going to be shooing your visitors away. Oh, and please don’t beat around the bush — be straightforward. The people will surely admire you for that.
State what benefits your readers/visitors will get. You should tell them what good stuff are waiting for them so that you’ll have a better chance of selling your products. Make your statement clear and precise, otherwise they won’t understand you and might mark you as a pitiful, good-for-nothing spammer who is just wasting their time.
Present the deal in a nice manner. The deal is the offer that you want to sell to your readers. It could be your site, a product or a service. Make sure that the deal is presented well — don’t just put keywords like “DVDs and VCDs” and put a hyperlink saying “click here to order”, your readers would most likely think of your e-mail as a spam. If possible, use bullets to enumerate your products so that your readers won’t have a difficult time understanding what you mean.
Put some credibility in your letter. You must tell your reader why your products are the “best” for them. What makes you/your product stand out? You must state what your product has and what makes it unique. Use testimonials and reviews to give your readers some ideas on what to expect when they buy your stuff.
