How to Increase Your RSS Feed Subscribers
Posted by Mike | Filed under Blogging, Internet MarketingOops! First Things First!
Okay, so… guys, sorry for the lack of update yesterday! I’ve been very busy, and I have a lot of things to do… Anyway, here’s another article from The WWW Observer. It will tell you how to build up your readership base. Enjoy!
The Reason to Increase RSS Feed Subsribers
Some people may ask, “Why should I even bother increasing my RSS subscribers? I have plenty of unique visitors per day!”… Well, to tell you, your RSS feed subscribers are much more important than unique visitors. They’re your loyal readers, and they value your articles very much. Check my article entitled The Importance of RSS Feed Subscribers for further information on the significance of feed subscribers.
How to Increase Your RSS Feed Subsribers
There are many ways to increase your reader base and I’ll be discussing every trick that I know here. Hopefully, you will be able to make your number of subscribers reach the rooftop after reading this post!

Okay, here are the tips and tricks to increase your subscriber count!
1. Put your RSS button where your visitors can see it.
Believe me, this is one of the biggest factors that can make or break your readership base! If your RSS button is nowhere to be found, how will the people be able to subscribe to your feeds? They won’t waste time in looking for that tiny text saying “Subscribe now!”, they will probably leave your site and not come back for some time. It will really be a great advantage if you place your button above the scroll so you won’t be giving them a hard time looking for it.
2. Encourage your visitors to subscribe by putting a text before and after each post.
A simple “If you’re new here, you might want to subscribe now to get the latest updates” will surely make your visitors subscribe to your RSS feed. People who read your thought-provoking post will absolutely subscribe to your feed if you put the text after each post because they have just read your captivating article! Here’s an example of the said kind of text from The WWW Observer:

3. Always offer a full version of your feeds.
People don’t want to follow a lot of links just to finish what they’re reading. They want to get the information that they need right there and then, so you should offer full feeds!
4. Only display a feed counter if you have lots of subscribers.
You don’t have to disappoint your visitors by showing your feed counter if you only have fifty (50) subscribers. They will just be dismayed and they probably won’t subscribe to your feeds. Why? Because of the low number of your subscribers, they might think that you’re not delivering content that’s worth reading.
5. Give exclusive stuff to your subscribers.
Offer discounts, coupons and other freebies for your subscribers only. Everyone likes a dollar off a nice e-book, or perhaps a good coupon for a hosting package. Give them to your subscribers and more people will come your way!
6. Update regularly.
Your subscribers will surely remove your blog from their list if you are not updating regularly. They should know when to expect your next post, so inform them if you’re going out of town or something.
7. Stay on topic… ALWAYS.
Don’t wander too far from your blog’s subject. Your readers might be subscribing just because they want the latest news on printers, so if you make a post about video games, they might be tempted to click the “unsubscribe” button.
8. Always publish something worthwhile!
Of course, you should publish informative write-ups. Don’t post nonsense stuff; always make sure that your readers will get something out of it.Also, consider their time! Don’t make them waste their time just because of your worthless post…
9. Give options on how to subscribe.
Some people might not want to download a feed reader, so think about delivering your feeds through e-mail or some other method. Don’t forget to use a captivating line like “Get the feeds delivered fresh to your inbox!”. That way, you will attract more and more readers!
10. Use forums to your advantage.
Some forums have a “Recent Blog” add-on, so you can share your latest posts with the members. Put your feed URL there to be able to tell the members about your newest blog publication. Just make sure to post frequently and be a proactive member of the community! By doing so, you’ll be able to earn the members’ trust and they’ll consider subscribing to your blog.
So there you have it! I hope that you can increase your subscribers by doing these tips. Good luck! Hey… since you have just finished reading this, please consider subscribing to The WWW Observer’s feed! Thanks.
