Make Money with Your Hobby

Posted by Mike | Filed under Make Money Online

Face it. There are many people out there who are struggling to make money online, and they often get headaches because they just can’t think of ways to earn. Hey, you might be even one of them! There’s a way to earn while you’re enjoying though. You guessed it right, you can make money with your hobby. I know that there are offers and e-books out there which claim to make you money while you’re sleeping, but hey… as they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So better do what you enjoy doing than having high hopes of earning by reading those lousy reports — You’ll save yourself from stress. ;)

Can I Really Make Money By Doing What I Like?

Yes, but it actually depends on what you like. If you’re so fond of dozing off, then hell no, you’re not going to make a single cent!

Let me tell you something. I really like playing with Photoshop and doing crazy things with it. I often create blog designs (though they’re not that good… yet) just for fun. I came up with a total of seven designs in a week and sold five of them for $20 each, and two for $30 each. That’s $160 for simply having fun!

I know it’s not that much compared to what you can earn when working so hard and thinking of innovative ideas, but hey, I just did something that I enjoy. What’s nice about it is that I made some cash! Well, that week was so stress-free and I even got a “bonus” for having a good time. You can also do the same. You can write articles for other people if you’re fond of writing. You can create graphics if designing is your pastime. As long as you have a “good” hobby, then you can probably earn from it.

The Key to Enjoying AND Earning

There’s this one rule that I always keep in mind whenever I just want to take things “casually”: Don’t do it if you don’t want to.

Simple, eh? If you’re so determined to earn, then that rule may not be for you. You’ve got to do whatever it takes to make money. But if you want to make some cash without being stressed, then by all means don’t do anything that you don’t like! If you don’t like writing, then don’t offer article writing services. Plain and simple.

I hope y’all learned something. Have fun doing your own thing! Hopefully you can earn from your hobbies too. I would really love to know your thoughts about making money by doing what you like. Just write everything in the comment field, please. Merci beaucoup!

That’s great! You earn because you’re having fun. Let’s see… I enjoy creating videos, but I’m not really aware if there are people who need video-creating services. :?:

Renn: There are people who need video-creating services, especially since video ads are quite the hit these days. Look around some forums and you’ll encounter a number of them. ;)

    @ Renn
YouTube has a special section which you can create videos for others and win contests.

Well, it needs to depend on what you like to do like you have said. However, interests come and go. You might be doing something that you don’t like or you don’t have any idea of now but as time goes by, you might like it more.

I started out blogging with just a personal blog and I don’t worry for stuffs like traffic building and so on. But as I move deeper into reading stuffs, I find myself getting more and more interested in the topic. This is the time I have decided to share what I know. Now, I am enjoying what I am doing. :-)

Wayne: That’s great! That just proves that we can develop interests (and make money, stress-free  ). Some people whom I talk to don’t believe that.

@Jug Nice post as always. To be honest that’s quite a hefty amount of cash just for playing with Photoshop. I figured that I should do it too (the designing ‘just because’). *evil laugh*

Yuhu: Haha, actually it isn’t that much. Though I’m glad that I made some $$$ by just clicking the paint bucket tool and stuff. ;)

Fortunately my hobby itself is “making money” so I really don’t need to find out ways to convert the hobby into money making machine ;)

That’s just way too cool, Life is Colourful. :) I don’t know if “making money” is my hobby or not, but I have a weird interest in it — that’s why I started this blog.

That is so true! I have started doing what I like and it comes much more naturally. There is a great book I read called the “7 Spiriritual Laws of Success” that explains something called The Law of Least Effort. That’s my new motto in living. Do what comes natural and easily and sure enough some money will be in your pocket in no time, sometimes even more than you expect!

Chelle: Thanks for visiting my blog. ;) Now I’m off to buy that book. It looks like it can make my life way better!

What happens if your hobby is sailing? Who wants to buy a boat?

Juggler, its true also about hobby, in another way of translate from your “make money with your hobby” is “treat blogging as your hobby”, by using this term, you will soon notice that with your hobby, you are making money from it. Nice post juggler :)

Well, you can treat blogging as hobby only when its something you can love to write, the niche!
    Another important thing :)

There is a lot of dedication required to be successful at anything online and I can tell you from personal experience that if it wasn’t for the love of what I do, I would have given up along time ago.

    Very nice site:)

    Thanks,

    Lee

    100% agree.

An old man told me once, if you just work hard, you’ll be ahead of 90% of everyone else. If you’re smart, you’ll be ahead of 95% of everyone else!

I think that is true in just about everything. The working hard part comes from the motivation of enjoying what you do.

    That’s my two cents!

Thanks for the positive response, guys. :D I hope to see ya around here. ;)

[…] First, you need to know how to use Adobe Photoshop and you must have a very imaginative mind. Second, create a very cool image. Make a logo, banner, web layouts, or whatever your heart tells you to draw. Third, sell it. Yes, you can sell your images. You may sell your designs in DigitalPoint or you can join logo making contests. Design prices are ranging from $10-$100 or even more. I know a friend who make money by just making some fun from Photoshop. […]

That’s great news that you can earn from your hobby, but it does really come down to your hobby. Photoshop is a skill most poeple on the internet are not willing to learn so it looks like your market could be a big one.
