Optimal Title - Must Have Word Press Plugin

Posted by Mike | Filed under SEO

SEOIf you know anything about Search Engine Optimization or SEO, you know that there is not a single step to optimize your blog to gain the maximum traffic from the search engines. SEO takes a lot of work, but the benefits increased traffic and hopefully increased revenue from your blog.

One of the best, simple SEO plugins for our Word Press blog is the Optimal Title Plugin. You are likely hurting yourself in the search engines if you are not using it! In my example, I will use Google since it is the most important search engine.

If you look at the top-left of your browser you will see the title of this article followed by the title of my blog.

Optimal Title - Must Have Word Press Plug-in | The WWW Observer - Make Money Online, SEO and Beyond

By default Word Press produces the exact opposite. The blog title goes first followed by the title of the article. Take a look at this Football Blog article. You will notice the title at the top-left:

Dave’s Football Blog - Money, It’s Gotta be the Shoes!

The problem with this is everyone one of Dave’s Football Blog articles archived in Google will start with “Dave’s Football Blog” then the title (if any). Take note of his pages in Google:

SEO Title Tag

This is great if you expect millions of people to do a “Dave’s Football Blog” in Google. There is a benefit to this if he only wants traffic from “football blog” keyword searches because it was the #1 return when I searched! So, if the title of your blog is the only keywords you are after then leave it alone and don’t install this plug in! If you want each of your articles to show up well in Google based on the title then install this plugin. Now take a look at tw3o.com in Google:

Title Optomizing

You will notice that the article title shows up first then the blog title. All of my article titles will show up well for the key words in each article title. In my view this is important if your blog title is not relevant and highly searched. I recommend this Optimal Title Plugin as it takes less than 5 minutes to install, it is 100% free and it will reward you with more traffic over the long-term. It is very popular with over 15,000 downloads!

Never realized about this, thanks Mike. Anyway, I use “All in One SEO Pack” and luckily it produces the same result as Optimal Title Plugin ;)

I was just about to mention all in one seo as well. Works a treat and does the same job.

Optimal title works only with Title Mike, but All in one SEO pack works on everything like page and posts tirle, desc, and keywords.
