Apparently, Britney Spears has decided to use Google AdSense to makes some money. You will notice the 720-Wide Leaderboard AdSense Ad at the bottom of the official Britney Spears Website.

Britney Spears Website

I have two theories about Britney Spears use of this;

  1. She is broke and needs the money or;
  2. Her manager is smart and has found away to cash in on her name even further

Britney Spears MoneyReason two makes the most sense. Think about it. How many unauthorized Britney Spears websites are there out there? How many of them are making money off her name and not paying her royalties? There are likely thousands of unauthorized sites and many making a ton of money off of her fame. This could be a briliant way for Spears to take a cut off those profits. For example, the only reason a person would spend money using Google AdWords is to get Britney Spears interested Google traffic to their website with the intent to sell a product/service. The webmaster pays per click in hopes of making a product. By using Google AdSense, Britney Spears can now get paid for sending traffic to unauthorized websites thus taking a cut. Britney Spears official website likely gets tens of thousands of unique visitors a day and is making a pretty profit using Google AdSense. Could this be a presidence for future celebrities? I think so!

What’s up?

Hey guys. It’s been a while since I last posted here. I really, really hope that you still remember me. I’m Jug, the former owner of The WWW Observer. For those of you who didn’t get the chance to “meet” me, well… hi!

I have to admit, I miss this blog, but as I said many times before, my studies are my priority. What’s up with me? Well, school had just started so I’m actually studying our lessons in advance so I seriously would be able to kick some a**es.

Anyway, I’m not here to talk about my personal life and all that. I’m here because I wanted to share some good money making strategies with you. While they are not completely unique and unheard of, they’re something that people tend to underestimate. What I’m about to tell you (or rather, make you realize) is how to use your skills to make money online.

How to Use Your “Skills” Effectively and Efficiently

Some people have really great skills, but they’re not using them to make the most money that they could! Heck, I found REALLY talented graphic designers that charge like $10 or $20 a logo — some were even better than the ones I hired for like $100+. No kidding.

The problem with those “cheap-but-talented” people is that they don’t put in much effort in finding clients. They stick with places where PEOPLE WOULD ONLY PAY DIRT CHEAP, like Digital Point. Geesh, I mean, people there are willing to sell their souls (I am a bit exaggerating here) for like $5 or so.

Build an Online Presence

What you should do is BUILD PRESENCE. Create your own website for a certain service, promote it on all related online communities, and most importantly, use the power of word-of-mouth. Tell your friends about it. Let the people in your network know about it. It will eventually spread like a virus and you’ll get clients who are WILLING TO PAY in a short amount of time.

Here’s a real life example. I used to offer my WordPress services (includes installation, repair, whatever) for really cheap prices like what, $3 or something? I then realized that I was “underpaid” for what I’m doing. I created a website called WPStart and placed all the information there.

Guess what, within two days, I received my first THREE clients. One of them ordered the two $35 packages (that’s $70), and the other two ordered one $35 package each. That’s another $70. A total of $140 for the first two days of a website. Pretty impressive, huh? Others might have done better, but for a kid like me, it was a good start.

If I didn’t start the website, then I might have earned somewhere around $60. Or maybe I wouldn’t have gotten any clients at all! See what building your online presence could do?

Running Campaigns and Having a Professional Looking Website

Sometimes, just having a website and “casually” advertising it won’t be enough to get you customers. You should also invest in advertising campaigns and unique web designs (to show that you’re dead serious with your business — having a free template will give the impression that you’re there to make a quick buck).

I have started a new web directory and some of my peers were criticizing me. Why? Because I am still using a free template. The unique one is currently in the works, and believe me, having a free template is currently affecting my directory. Some people on my messenger list wouldn’t want to buy a featured link because they think that my site wouldn’t last. See the first impression “free templates” give to people?

Same goes with your website containing services that you offer. If you don’t have a professional-looking website, you will not have many customers who trust you. Trust me. :mrgreen:

Summary

Basically, that’s it for now. I will guest post again when I have some free time. Meanwhile, let me study harder to attain my goals. Gah, as I am writing this, the current news item on TV is about a certain math group from our country who won some US competition (certainly not AIME or ARML :razz: ). Darn, I am so jealous! :twisted: *Edit: It is ARML. I’m so darn jealous. Argh!

Bye guys. Catch ya later (hopefully)…

Social Bookmarks“If you build it they will come,” may be great for baseball, but not for articles. Sure, if you write great, original articles you will inevitably get traffic from Google, Yahoo and other search engines. More and more people are finding their news and articles from social bookmarking sites rather than the TV or standard news websites. Here are seven social bookmarking sites that I always submit my articles to gain immediate traffic and solid backlinks. In many instances, your submissions to these sites will beat your original article in Google!

  1. Digg.com - Google PageRank of 8 and consistently in the top 100 on Alexa. Get’s about 17 million visitors each month.
  2. Propeller.com - Google PageRank of 7 and really the only competitor to Digg.com in the “vote up or down” format because it is part of the AOL Network and owned by Time Warner. Still nowhere near the visitors as Digg with about 1.5 million visitors each month.
  3. Technorati.com - Technorati has a PageRank of 8 and gets well over 3 million visitors each month. There is no need to submit your articles. Simple register you blog with Technorati.com and it will automatically post your articles to your profile. You can “ping” your blogs to get faster results.
  4. del.icio.us - Is there a cooler .US domain name? del.icio.us is another PageRank 8 social bookmark site. It gets about 1.5 million visitors each month. Is the simplest of them all and takes 15 seconds to submit your article once you are logged in.
  5. StumbleUpon.com - StumbleUpon is more of a random site generator based on the keywords you provide when submitting your articles, but there is no arguing the immediate traffic you will get. Use the StumbleUpon toolbar for quick submissions!
  6. Reddit.com - Reddit is a simple “Digg.com like” site. It looks ugly, but can provide some traffic. Reddit is a PageRank 7 site and gets just over 1 million visitors each month.
  7. fark.com - Fark is a “cooler” looking site that is relatively easy to submitt to. It is another PageRank 7 site, but only gets about 300,000 visitors each month.

Spend 5-10 minutes submitting your articles and you will see immediate results. Check your server stats or Google Analytics now and then to see which ones perform better than others. With 100s of social bookmarking sites out there you will need to figure out which ones perform better than others. Sites with lesser traffic may perform better because the theme of the site may match your articles topic/theme. Submit to these sites religiously and watch your traffic soar! I’m off to go submit this article…
