Oh Great… It’s School Time Once Again!

School time

Hi guys, I would like to let you know that we just resumed our classes today and I’ll be VERY busy with lots of school stuff. I really want to beat the crap out of my competition maintain my good academic standing. Don’t worry though. I will still post daily (Yeah, I’ve got the Post Timestamp’s power! ). If I can’t come up with daily posts, maybe I will just publish three posts a week. I hope that’s okay with you!

5 Things that I Learned From School Experiences… Applied to Internet Marketing!

Well, enough of the academic standing and daily posts thingies. Here are five things that I learned from my experiences in school, and they can be applied to internet marketing as well. Enjoy!

Don’t let your competitors ruin your plans. Don’t give up just because they were able to beat you once. Stand up and give more effort to what you’re doing. Focus on your work and you will be able to kick their butts the next time around.

Always have a positive mindset. If you always think that you can’t do this and you can’t do that, then you really can’t! Try to turn a bad thought into a good thought by doing something about it. Instead of saying “I can’t finish this project in time!”, why not tell yourself “I can do this and I will come up with the most effective way to get this project done in no time.”?… Right?

Don’t let numbers bother you. Hey, NO, I’m not telling you to ignore one of my favorite subjects which is Math! I’m just telling you that if you’re a bit disappointed with your scores (let’s say… your site’s search engine ranking or perhaps its PageRank *ahem, ahem*), don’t make a big fuss out of it. Just move on and work hard to achieve your goals.

Always pay attention to what’s happening around. Some people in school are too busy doing their own thing. Because of that, they are missing a lot of valuable information that the teacher shares with us. In the internet world, you have to keep track of what’s going on to be able to market your products effectively. You’ll never know, the method you’re using might be so outdated already that no one will even bother looking at your product.

Here’s a tip: Participating in internet marketing discussion boards is one of the most effective ways to know what’s happening.

In everything that you do, make sure that you give it your BEST SHOT. Well, I actually regret the times that I didn’t study at all for term exams. Yeah sure, it’s a good thing that I got 91%+, but I wasn’t able to get the top spot… and that sucks. BIG TIME. Now I told myself that I will do my best in everything, and that I’ll strive to be the number one again.

Same goes for internet marketing. Don’t settle for sloppy work. If you’re an affiliate of a web hosting service, don’t just scatter banners all over your site; do everything that you can to make sure that you’ll earn… Maybe you can run an AdWords campaign or something. Come out of creative ideas that other marketers can’t think of… Make sure that you strive for excellence. ALWAYS!

I guess that’s it for today… I’ve got some assignments to do, so ta-ta for now! I hope you enjoyed your read. Make sure that you stay tuned by subscribing to the RSS feed.

Great advice for all online marketers. I guess you really can learn something from school, hah.

Sound advice for those looking to make money online. I especially like the statement “Don’t Let Numbers Bother You.” Some folks get really hung up on PR numbers.

    Good luck with your classes!

Like Chanya said: the statement about numbers is especially useful here. I think it’s fine if webmasters are interested in PageRank and building their PageRank authority, but if it drops or doesn’t turn out how they wanted after all their hardwork they shouldn’t worry about it.

The recent PageRank fiasco should be a sign: PageRank is not everything. Not even close.

I, too, think it’s a great point about the numbers. I’d trade a ton of pageviews for an active community any day.

Now, excuse me as I go check Analytics.
