Types of Sites that Get Very High Traffic

Are you looking for a specific niche or topic that can get a very large amount of traffic in a short period of time? Well then, this article is for you. Before I tell you the specific types of sites which receive high amounts of traffic, you have to understand that ANY site can have the ‘high-traffic’ status if the webmaster has a good marketing strategy. I will just state the kinds of sites which can receive a big buzz without too much effort.
Ready? Here we go! 
Blogs which focus on one topic - Blogs, especially if the author can write very well, can attract a lot of readers and will get lots of traffic in no time. If your audience are interested in what you’re writing, you won’t lose them. So don’t think of switching from one topic to a very different one because that might tempt your readers to stop reading your blog.
File storage sites - These sites get a lot of traffic since the owners of the files would usually check back to update/delete their files. Be careful when you’re setting up one though, as the bandwidth and disk space might cost you!
Arcade sites - Yep, arcades/game sites get loads of traffic everyday! Why? Because a lot of people are bored and they want entertainment. They want to play games to relieve stress or whatever. 
Video sites - Who can say that YouTube doesn’t get millions of visits per day? No one! Well, video sites are really great and people would like to view some stuff (for entertainment as well), so it would be a good idea to start one… if you think you can beat YouTube or similar sites like Megavideo.
Social bookmarking sites - SBS (I call social bookmarking sites SBS!) are the ‘in’ thing these days, so starting one would be a nice thing to do. You can start small — ask your friends to use it and eventually, it’ll get bigger and bigger!

Excellent list you got there. I’d also like to add to the list sites that offer free stuff. If the site is constantly updated with the newest freebies available both on the Web and off it, it will surely pull in hordes of curious surfers on a continuous basis.
