What Happened to the WidgetBucks Buzz?
Posted by Mike | Filed under Ad Serving, Make Money Online
I clearly recall what happened just some time ago… Every blogger (and I literally mean EVERY BLOGGER) wrote something about WidgetBucks. In fact, everyone was dumbfounded with the amazing CPC and CPM that WidgetBucks offered so they just had to sign-up to try the program. They couldn’t let the opportunity to make some real cash get away!
People who wanted to make money online tried to accumulate as much referrals as they could just so they can earn some money, so in effect, all internet marketers heard about the program and used it. I actually expected a never-ending “WidgetBucks Buzz” because the said ad network showed a lot of promise and potential. But what happened? It seems like people stopped talking about it and some even dropped the program for good.
A few weeks after the ad network’s launching, complaints about WidgetBucks arose. People noticed that some clicks weren’t counted, and some people even lost earnings. More and more users quit using the program when the issue about WidgetBucks and hidden links was the talk of the town. I think that the user base of WB is starting to decline because of several issues and “WidgetBucks is a scam!” blog posts and forum threads.
I believe that WidgetBucks will become “just another ad network” in the future. People aren’t intrigued any more, some of them even abandoned the program. What do you think? Will WidgetBucks slowly fade away, or will it become an even more successful (if you guys consider it a success right now) program sooner or later? Share your thoughts…

I think they already gone down. Since they changed to america only traffic.
There’s a false statement in this article: “Every blogger wrote something about WidgetBucks” is inaccurate, because I’m a blogger and I never wrote anything about WidgetBucks.
Actually, I have never heard of WidgetBucks until reading this. And it just so happens that I was on the lookout for something just like it.
As for it becoming popular again: there’s always that possibility, but we live in a day and age where if something doesn’t become instantly popular, it may never become popular.
I just installed a Widget Bucks widget this past weekend. I didn’t know anything about the controversy but after reading your post I checked the admin panel and it looks like the program isn’t accurately counting page impressions. I’ll continue monitoring it but if the mis-counting continues I’ll probably remove it from my site.

Thanks for clearing that. Well, I was able to conclude that “every blogger blogged about it” ’cause every blog that I visited during the day had a post about WB.
