Why Blogging is Hard for You

Oftentimes, I encounter bloggers who are having a difficult time when they’re trying to come up with a unique blog post. Blogging is supposed to be treated like a hobby — it’s supposed to be fun, easy and relaxing. Now I quite understand why there are people who try hard to create a successful blog but unfortunately, they fail.
Here are reasons why blogging is hard for some people… I’ll also discuss how to overcome these hardships.

You don’t like to blog. Dude, admit it. You’re TRYING to blog JUST to earn money, not to share your thoughts with people. I told you that blogging is supposed to be fun and it should help you open up to people and tell them what’s on your mind.
How to solve this problem: Stop blogging! Duh…
You consider blogging as a job. It’s NOT supposed to be a job! It’s supposed to be a hobby, so write if you feel like writing. If you have nothing in mind, then don’t post. It’s not your obligation to post every minute of your life, so don’t be so bothered if you can’t post for a day or two. I’m sure your readers will understand as most of them are bloggers as well.
How to solve this problem: Relax, don’t take it so seriously. Blog if you have the time to do so. Don’t act as if you’ll get fired if you don’t blog for a day.
You own and try to maintain a lot of blogs. There are some people who find updating tons of blogs easy, but most people don’t. As I mentioned before, people do ANYTHING just to make money online. Unfortunately, not all of them are talented enough to write for 10 different blogs per day. Hah, you thought blogging was waaaay easier, eh? Now you know it’s not that easy.
How to solve this problem: Don’t try to establish too many blogs at the same time. Do it one by one, if you really want to own lots of ‘em. If you can’t handle updating each blog frequently, then don’t set-up many blogs! I mean… what’s the point? They’ll just be sitting there and doing nothing… not even making some money for you.
You want to come up with great posts in a short amount of time. This can make blogging a pretty hard task. You can’t write an article on the spot if you don’t have a topic in mind. You HAVE to know what to write about, but thinking too hard can just mess things up.
How to solve this problem: Just write your opinion on things that you’re interested in if you want to publish a post within 30 minutes or so. If you want to come up with really weird and/or extraordinary posts, then read a few stuff on the net and research a bit. You can’t come up with an in-depth article without researching!
No one reads your blog posts. Because of this, you might think that “My efforts are wasted; no one even reads my stuff”. And by having that kind of mindset, you will be stressed and you’ll be forced to conclude that blogging is a tedious thing that requires excellent writing skills. Actually, it is not that hard if you think about it! You just have to be creative… 
How to solve this problem: Write good stuff, but don’t write too much. Try to expose your blog by posting on forums and commenting on other blogs. Once you get the people’s attention, then it’s time to write more high-quality posts! They will notice that you’re a good writer and you WILL say that… “After all, blogging is not that hard!” 
This post is perfect, I see the bloggers that blog as a job all the time. The problem is that *most* of the ‘make money online’ blogs try to gain readership by making everything seem too easy, when really it takes time and patience.
I despise the common misconception that all bloggers blog just to make money, not only is it not true, it makes blogging look worse and worse to the general public.
Blogging for reasons other than money is the best way to blog (in my opinion), but even then it still becomes very difficult to write. You offer some great tips for bloggers here, thanks for sharing.

I think the “No one reads your posts” is spot on. I’m certain a lot of people write a few posts, sit back, and then notice no one’s reading it. Of course–because they don’t realize that writing is only part of blogging.

You hit the nail on the head with this post. You’ve just explained why so many people end up abandoning their blogs. Blogging becomes too arduous for them and they eventually lose interest.

I have just started a blog and apart from a few Google Adsense ads (hopefully to cover the hosting costs) i dont intened to make any money. It’s blogging for fun for me. I also agree that some people try and run too many blogs when they should be putting their effort into a few.
